A series of lectures jointly organised by the Historical Archives of Alpha Bank and Benaki Museum.

12 Meetings about the Political Changeover

Historical Archives of Alpha Bank and Benaki Museum are jointly organising a series of meetings/lectures dedicated to the history of Greece following the political changeover of 1974 and the transition from dictatorship to democracy, an era known as Metapolitefsi.

A total of 12 lectures will be delivered by professors and researchers of humanities and social sciences. Each speaker will analyse this fairly recent and controversial era in the Greek history, through their research and from their own point of view.

The coordinators of the series are:

  • Kostas Kostis, head of the Historical Archives of Alpha Bank, Professor of Economic and Social History at the Department of Economics, University of Athens.
  • Sotiris Rizas, Director of Research at the Research Centre for the Study of Modern Greek History.
