What the publication includes
The publication was released as part of the celebrations marking the 50-year anniversary of Alpha Bank’s Numismatic Collection. It includes:
- 150 coins that present the other side of the coin, the side that tells stories, photographs moments and testifies to events.
- The Chronology of the Collection at the end of the publication, with selected documents and photographs (1972-2022), which records the most important moments of the Collection and pays tribute to its founder, Yannis S. Kostopoulos.
- Descriptive catalogue of all coins with illustrations and description of the 2 sides.
The publication also includes greetings from the President of the INC (International Numismatic Council) ICOMON Ute Wartenberg Kagan, the Emeritus Professor of the University of Ioannina, Katerini Liampi, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alpha Bank, Vassilis Rapanos and the CEO of Alpha Bank Group, Vassilis Psalti.
After the greetings, a text briefly describing the objectives and activities of the Coin Collection follows.
The catalogue of a major exhibition
The publication accompanied the exhibition "The other side of the coin: Faces - Images - Snapshots" organised by the Alpha Bank Coin Collection at the Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation.
