The Flintlock and the Piastre

The publication The Flintlock and the Piastre: Land Financial Realities in Southern Peloponnese (1750-1850) examines the archive of the Salvara family, which lived and worked in Mistra. It monitors the realities of public life in Greece for at least one century and interprets individual and collective behaviours on many levels. The title The Flintlock and the Piastre reflects the subversive relationship of the revolutionary weapon with money.
