70 works spanning from the Venetian rule to the 19th century

The exhibition presents more than 70 works from the National Gallery collection, as well as from museums, archives and cultural institutions in Greece.

The exhibits showcase the artistic production on the Ionian Islands from the late Venetian rule to the decades after the Islands joined Greece and highlight a decisive period for shaping modern Greek art.

The work by Pachis, in particular, depicts 19th-century Corfu and showcases the landscape tradition of the Ionian School and the artist’s contribution to Ionian painting.
