A retrospective on the work of Nikos Alexiou

The exhibition is a major retrospective presenting the oeuvre of Greek artist Nikos Alexiou.

The exhibition artworks were sourced from Popi Alexiou, the Alpha Bank Art Collection, the National Museum of Contemporary Art and the Contemporary Art Museum of Crete.

The creator's artistic approach

Alexiou’s work moved between the local and the international, between meticulous craftsmanship and contemporary artistic expression.

These elements are clearly reflected in The Grid, a work that exemplifies the creator’s artistic approach. Through simple materials, such as reed cane and string, the artist creates a complex, poetic structure, in which light and movement take centre stage.
