The Art Collection is participating in the exhibition “URBANOGRAPHY” with 3 works

The Alpha Bank Art Collection is participating in the National Gallery exhibition “URBANOGRAPHY. City life in the 1950s-1970s” with 3 works by acclaimed Greek artists:

  1. Spyros Vassiliou, Athens, 1971. Oil and gold leaf on canvas, 112 x 45 cm
  2. Yiannis Spyropoulos, Stasimo No 3, 1962. Mixed technique, 114 x 162 cm
  3. Panayiotis Tetsis, Athenian Roofs, 1961-63. Oil on canvas, 139 x 86 cm

The exhibition features pieces by 79 artists. Additionally, 21 movies are screened, in partnership with the Greek Film Archive Foundation.

The theme of the exhibition is the rapid transformation of Greek cities in the 3 post-war decades. It tracks the changes brought about in the Greek society by urbanisation, and internal and external migration.

The exhibition includes:

  • Guided tours
  • Educational programmes
  • Public events combining theory and various forms of artistic expression

The exhibition catalogue will be published in Greek and English.
