Meeting “Culture, Digital Media and Entrepreneurship”

On Friday 18 and Saturday 19 May 2018, the organisation Xenios Polis, the Ministry of Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Media and the centre Cardet co-hosted a meeting on “Culture, Digital Media and Entrepreneurship”.

The meeting was held at the auditorium of the Ministry of Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Media and the Alpha Bank building on Sofokleous Street.

The subject of the meeting was the importance of digitising the tangible and intangible culture; the synergies and partnerships between cultural and IT institutions; the role of cultural education and tourism; and the development of entrepreneurship via digital culture.

The Alpha Bank Numismatic Collection together with FORTH Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas participated in the meeting with the paper “Creating Original Interactive Experiences for Numismatic Collections”. The Curator of the Alpha Bank Numismatic Collection, Dr Dimitra Tsangari, and FORTH researcher Mr Dimitris Grammenos, presented the 2 digital applications, Stater 3602 and Coin-o-rama, which were designed to present a number of ancient coins from the Alpha Bank Collection in a modern, digital way.

In total, 21 representatives from 16 cultural, educational and IT institutions attended the meeting.
